My son and I were supposed to go to a ministry/recreation/beach trip with close friends yesterday. But due to unforeseen circumstances, I decided to give up my seat and stay behind.
It was a bittersweet decision. Of course, we were all excited to go to this trip. We literally waited the whole day to leave the city and when the time came for us to leave, I had to back out.
But in general, I was happy I made that decision. I know it was sad and I made some people sad as well, but knowing that a little girl would smile.
I gave up my seat so my Goddaughter, who we were not expecting to come with us, enjoy some sand and beach. She seldom gets to go out of town and I would like her, her mom, and her little brother to have that opportunity and enjoy some much needed vacay.
Knowing that a certain little girl that has a special place in my heart would enjoy and have fun, though I would not be able to hear her laughter, is more than enough for me.
Cancelling had some good sides as well. My friend Jiji would be able to keep her promise to her sister and niece and I would be able to watch my little sister sing at a concert.
We just have to schedule another beach trip with friends. :)
